What is Sculptra® Aesthetic? How does it work?

Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved dermal filler that contains poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable substance that is naturally absorbed by the body. It has been safely used in dissolvable stitches for more than 25 years. As the poly-L-lactic acid microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production and restore volume and fullness to the face, smoothing shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds, including:

• Smile lines at the corners of your nose
• Marionette lines at the corners of your mouth
• Chin wrinkles

What can I expect from treatment?

Your Water’s Edge Dermatologist injects Sculptra within the deep dermis, where strands of collagen support your skin’s structure. A treatment regimen of Sculptra includes an average of three sessions over a period of three to four months. The number of sessions and injections vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen needs to be restored to achieve the desired result.

When will I see results and how long will they last?

Sculptra works gradually over time, resulting in a more youthful-looking appearance that can last up to two years.
