Dr. Carlos Gutierrez is a distinguished physician renowned for his dedication to providing exemplary patient care. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree summa cum laude from the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Camaguey, Cuba. Following his graduation, Dr. Gutierrez completed a family medicine residency at Amalia Simoni Hospital in his hometown of Camaguey. He further enhanced his clinical expertise through a medical humanitarian mission in Venezuela, providing medical care for underserved communities. He also practiced medicine as a family medicine specialist in Bogota, Colombia.
Dr. Gutierrez pursued advanced training in internal medicine, completing a residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He also completed a Venous and Lymphatic Medicine fellowship, solidifying his specialized knowledge in this field.
With 14 years of experience, Dr. Gutierrez specializes in Internal Medicine and Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. He is a specialist in chronic venous insufficiency, venous ulcers, recurrent varicose veins, spider veins, SVT/DVT, restless leg syndrome, and lymphedema, among many others. He is skilled in various treatments including minimally invasive procedures such as ultrasound guide endovenous thermal ablation (Laser, RFA), and ultrasound-guided foamed sclerotherapy with ample experience in Varithena. He also performs ambulatory phlebectomy and visual sclerotherapy.
He is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the American Vein and Lymphatic Society (AVLS). He holds certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board-eligible with the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. Additionally, he is licensed to practice in Florida and New York and holds an ECFMG certification. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Originally from Camaguey, Cuba, Dr. Gutierrez lived in Miami, Florida, before relocating to Brooklyn, NY, to complete his training. He has since returned to Florida, where he now resides and continues his professional practice. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Gutierrez enjoys spending quality time with his significant other, his dog, and his family. He has a passion for swimming, outdoor activities, exercising, traveling, and exploring international cuisine.
