Founded by Dr. Ted Schiff

In 1998, after years of distinguished study and training, Dr. Ted Schiff opened his own medical practice in the small south-central Florida community of Okeechobee.

“It was a two-person office with no computers. Everything was done manually. I even helped answer the phones,” said Dr. Schiff. “Good training, hard work, attention to detail and, above all else, dedication to great patient care, is what allowed us to slowly, but steadily, build a successful practice.”

Quality Skin Care Throughout Florida

The determination to provide the highest standard of quality skin care at a local dermatology practice, coupled with creating the best possible patient experience, did not go unnoticed.

Positive word-of-mouth about Dr. Schiff spread. Over the course of the following years, Water’s Edge Dermatology grew, one practice at a time. As Dr. Schiff continued to grow the practice over the years, it was never just for the sake of getting bigger; it was in response to the need for a broader range of skin care in more communities.

Since 1998, Water’s Edge Dermatology has grown from the small practice in Okeechobee to 35 offices located throughout Florida. And, it hasn’t only grown in size, but it has grown in scope as well. The practice now employs more than 600 staff members who provide services ranging from general dermatology and skin cancer treatment to cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery and vein health services.

Despite its rapid growth, one thing hasn’t changed since 1998 (and never will): the passion and commitment to treating every patient that walks through the doors as family.
